My Memory Is
Not What It Used To Be
It is incredibly important to have a realistic idea of what you can do well, versus those you do not. Expecting to be able to memorize the dictionary is unrealistic, and thinking that your memory is poor because you can’t is just plain unfair to yourself. As we will learn soon, we have different kinds of memory ability, and virtually no one is terrible at all of them. You may be particularly good at remembering names, but horrible at recalling new phone numbers. Telling yourself that your memory is bad because you don’t know the best way to tackle a particular memory task only keeps you from learning ways to improve in those areas. Strategies have been developed that can help people become better at improving their performance on different kinds of memory tasks. That’s what you’ll learn in this program.
