Remembering Lists
To remember lists of information, try the following:
· Write it down! Take the list with you! Why strain your brain trying to memorize when you can just refer to what you have written?
· Make a list, and using the Categorization technique, organize the items to be remembered into meaningful groups. For example: shoes, pants, shirts, or, fruits, dairy products, meat. Then, when you are packing to go on your trip, or when you are in the grocery store, go down the list, category by category.
· Try the Method of Loci technique described earlier. Mentally arrange the items around a familiar room, and then take a walk through the room in your mind, “stopping” at each location to retrieve the item.
